THIS IS A REPOST OF
Safety precaution!!!!! To all Brookhaven Residents/Parents
Brookhaven police are investigating an isolated situation where someone has vandalized some of the playground equipment at "Eaton Park".
Parents are being warned to check the equipment due to the fact that some thoughtless criminal had duct taped some razor blades to the equipment that could have caused injury to children playing in the area.
Please warn your older unescorted children as well.
All the parks have been checked as of 4pm Tuesday 4/1/2014 and are clear.
This is an active investigation, and parks will be checked by both Patrol Officers as well as Plain clothes Officer on every shift.
If anyone has information they are urged to contact Detective Tim Habich or Officer Robert Barth at 610 876 6142.
If you witness a crime in progress or vandalism at the parks , please call 911.
The police department would like to thank Boro Maintenance supervisor Gary Thompson and crew on discovering this issue and ultimately keeping our children safe.
Please be advised that the soliciting permit for COMMERCE ENERGY to solicit In the Borough of Brookhaven has been PULLED as of 3/28/2014 1300 hrs.
The permit was pulled as a result of the solicitors refusing to abide by the agreed permit regulations. There were additional inappropriate issues discovered as well by Borough secretaries and Council President Sue Truesdale that would void the permit and allow it to be pulled.
If you encounter solicitors from COMMERCE ENERGY, don't hesitate to call the police via 911. Commerce Energy is very aware that they no longer possess a permit to solicit in Brookhaven.
Thank you to all and have a great weekend.
Randolph G McGoldrick
Chief of Police
Brookhaven Police Department.
