The Delaware County Historic Resources Survey conducted an inventory of historically or architecturally significant sites in Brookhaven in 1981. The survey was undertaken by the Delaware County Planning Department. Four homes were found to be architecturally and/or historically worthy of nomination to the Pennsylvania Register. They are as follows: the Yorden Home, "The Poplars", the Lister Homestead and the Dutton Mansion. The other homes and buildings that follow these four were also noted to have historic or architectural merit.
