Delco puts out call for centenarians | Print |
Delaware County Council will honor residents 100 years and older at the annual Centenarian Luncheon, May 11 at the Drexelbrook Events Center. The County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA) is seeking centenarians to receive invitations to the celebration.

This year marks the eighth anniversary of the Centenarian Luncheon, which is one of the highlights of Older Americans Month in May. Anyone turning 100 or older in 2010 is welcome to attend this luncheon.

Last year, 30 centenarians attended the luncheon. In addition, COSA staff visited 60 additional centenarians in the community.

Centenarians and one guest are invited to attend for free. Additional guests can purchase tickets for $25 each. Guests also receive a commemorative photograph from the day along with a special citation from Delaware County Council.

The organization or facility that brings the most centenarians to the luncheon will receive a prize.

For more information or to register to attend the luncheon, contact Barbara Nicolardi at 610-490-1524.
