Free Rainbarrel and Rain Garden Workshops for Delaware County Residents
The Delaware County Conservation District, in partnership with Pennsylvania Resources Council, is offering a series of four, free rainbarrel and rain garden workshops for residents of Delaware County. The goal of the program is to educate homeowners about various storm water management practices that can be implemented, around the home, in order to help improve the water quality of our local streams and other bodies of water. The PA Department of Environmental Protection’s Environmental Education Grants Program is providing funding for these workshops.

Learn to plant and care for trees in your neighborhood!
Tree Tenders is a training program that empowers concerned residents to make dramatic strides towards restoring and caring for their local tree canopy.
Join us for nine hours of hands-on training that will cover tree biology, identification, planting and proper care and working with your community. This training course was developed by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) in collaboration with Penn State Cooperative Extension., and since 1993 has trained over 2800 community volunteers from 175 Southeast Pennsylvania neighborhoods. The course is designed for all audiences.
Become one of the Tree Tenders who are expanding and tending your part of the forest. Become part of the “growing” TreeVitalize program designed by Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to increase Southeast Pennsylvania’s tree cover and the benefits that trees offer us all.
