Open Space Forum

The Delaware County Planning Department is developing a Countywide plan that will recommend an action plan for open space preservation, access to parks and recreation,conservation of natural resources, and a County greenway network.

Two Kickoff Public Forums for the Delaware County Open Space, Recreation, and Greenway Plan have been scheduled for Thursday, February 23 – each of these will be the same so attend the one that is most convenient for you.

From 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Springfield Township Building, 50 Powell Rd., Springfield, PA 19064

From 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the County Council Meeting Room, Delaware County Government Center, 201 West Front Street Media, PA 19063 - the closest entrance to the room is across the Courthouse plaza from 2nd and Orange Street.

The purpose of these meetings and the Plan’s other outreach efforts is to gather information from the public concerning open space and parks, so that we can develop a plan that reflects the needs, concerns, and desires of Delaware County citizens.

After a brief explanation/ presentation, the rest of the meetings will be taken up by having breakout discussion groups around the room to take comments on each of the 6 County Parks, greenways and trails, and other topics. There will be opportunities for attendees to view and mark up maps, fill out surveys, and comment on what they feel is most important to them.
